Position
We are hiring a Mobile Specimen Collector to support our Draper operations. This is a full-time, patient-facing role that involves transporting specimens, collecting samples at partner locations, and delivering supplies to mobile phlebotomists and clients. The position also supports STAT pickups, supply runs to the airport, and additional operational tasks as assigned. A company vehicle is provided during working hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Pick up and deliver medical specimens from clinics, partner facilities, and other healthcare sites
  • Collect specimens on-site while following HIPAA and OSHA guidelines
  • Transport samples, supplies, and documentation using a company vehicle
  • Deliver materials to mobile phlebotomists and retrieve shipments from local airports
  • Assist with STAT requests, route coverage, and unexpected transport needs
  • Serve as a liaison between clinics and the lab, communicating clearly and professionally
  • Document collections and transport activities using digital tracking tools and chain-of-custody forms
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and maintain a clean, organized workspace
  • Follow biohazard handling procedures, infection control protocols, and patient privacy standards
  • Adapt to route changes, delivery delays, and operational needs with a problem-solving mindset
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in medical transport, delivery, patient-facing healthcare, or recently certified (e.g., MA, CNA, phlebotomist, EMT)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Clean driving record (required for company vehicle eligibility)
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and frequently enter/exit a vehicle
  • Comfortable handling and transporting sealed medical specimens
  • Personal liability auto insurance
  • Time zone awareness is essential, including daylight saving time impacts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in clinical logistics, laboratory courier work, or mobile specimen collection
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, OSHA, and specimen tracking systems
  • Strong communication and customer service skills in a healthcare setting
  • Proficiency with GPS and smartphone apps for routing and communication
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment

Education:

  • No specific degree required

All positions require time zone awareness, including the impact of daylight saving time, as we are a multi-state organization with teams and partners across different U.S. time zones. Clear communication and timely coordination are essential.

Schedule:

  • Tuesday–Friday: 10:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Total: 30 hours per week

W2 hourly employees receive an 8% shift differential for hours worked between 8:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m., as well as for all hours worked on Saturdays and Sundays.

Job Type:

Salary:

  • $17–$19/hour (DOE)
