Area Sales Supervisor – Medical Laboratory Sales

Rocky Mountain Laboratories – Dallas, TX (field-based)

About Us

Rocky Mountain Laboratories is a clinical laboratory providing comprehensive laboratory services. We are dedicated to delivering accurate and timely diagnostic information and are committed to improving healthcare outcomes through cutting-edge technology and a customer-focused approach.

Position

Rocky Mountain Laboratories is growing in Texas and hiring an Area Sales Supervisor to own the Dallas area. This is a working, field-based role: you'll carry your own territory and build business across our molecular diagnostics, core lab, and toxicology services. As the area grows, you'll help hire, train, and lead a team of four to five Account Managers. It's a hands-on leadership role with a path to regional leadership as our Texas team grows. You'll report to our CEO for now, and to a Regional Sales Manager once that role is in place.

Pay and schedule

  • Pay: $85,000 per year base salary
  • Override: a percentage of your team's sales volume as the team grows
  • Bonus: performance bonus (details provided by the hiring manager)
  • Expenses: up to $650 per month for fuel, mileage, and phone, plus a company credit card for approved expenses
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, field-based
  • Job type: Full time, W2, exempt
  • Location: field-based in the Dallas area. You must live in or relocate to the Dallas area before starting.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Dallas area: build and run the territory plan and prospect, present to, and close new accounts
  • Manage and grow existing accounts through regular onsite visits and account reviews
  • Present to physicians, NPs and PAs, practice managers, directors of nursing, and facility administrators
  • Help recruit, interview, and onboard Account Managers as the area grows
  • Train new Account Managers through ride-alongs, shared prospecting, and account handoffs
  • Set weekly activity and volume goals and coach your team toward them once it's in place
  • Keep pipeline, volume, and forecasts current in Zoho CRM and report results to leadership
  • Coordinate new account onboarding and collector placements with operations
  • Follow company policy and the healthcare laws that govern lab sales and referrals, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, EKRA, and Stark
  • Other duties as assigned

Required qualifications

  • 3+ years of outside, field, or B2B sales experience
  • A track record of finding and closing new business on your own and meeting or exceeding targets
  • Experience training, mentoring, or leading other sales reps (a formal management title is not required; field trainer, team lead, or mentoring newer reps all count)
  • Confident presenting to physicians, practice managers, and facility leaders
  • Experience with a CRM system and comfort with pipeline reporting
  • Live in or willing to relocate to the Dallas area
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred qualifications

  • Medical sales experience in clinical laboratory, diagnostics, toxicology, pharmaceutical, or medical device sales
  • Formal sales supervisor or manager experience
  • Experience selling to mobile medicine, long-term care, hospice, pain management, or primary care practices
  • Knowledge of laboratory terminology and lab sales compliance
  • Experience with Zoho CRM or a laboratory information system (LIS/LIMS)
  • Bachelor's degree
