Position Summary
We are expanding our phlebotomy team in Aurora, CO, and looking for a dependable, experienced phlebotomist to join our growing operations. This is a full-time role with benefits and a great opportunity for individuals seeking long-term growth, including potential pathways into leadership. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring accurate specimen collection and transport while providing exceptional patient care. Candidates must be confident working independently and driving between collection sites using their personal vehicle.
Hourly Pay: $19–23
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 0700–1530
Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws and specimen collection per established procedures
- Accurately input and verify patient/specimen data in the LIS
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and transport of specimens
- Travel to various patient locations using a personal vehicle
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow infection control protocols
- Provide compassionate, respectful patient interactions
- Use a tablet for documentation (smartphones not permitted for patient data)
- Follow chain-of-custody and specimen integrity procedures
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance in all documentation and communications
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, laboratory staff, and facilities
- Identify and escalate specimen-related issues or client concerns
- Maintain and replenish mobile phlebotomy supplies
- Adapt to route or schedule changes and handle last-minute adjustments professionally
- Support cross-training efforts or special assignments as needed
- Follow all safety, regulatory, and infection control procedures as outlined in lab and healthcare guidelines
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience outside of training programs or donation centers (required)
- Proficiency with pediatric, geriatric, capillary, and venipuncture collections
- Prior mobile phlebotomy or home health experience strongly preferred
- Reliable personal vehicle, active auto insurance, and clean driving record
- Comfortable driving in urban and suburban areas, including varied weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to maintain professionalism in a variety of patient and facility settings
- Familiarity with HIPAA, infection control, and safety protocols
- Experience using routing apps and basic mobile technology
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible workload
- Interest in long-term growth, leadership, or training roles is a plus
Required
- Valid driver’s license
- Phlebotomy certification
- Current auto liability insurance
